FORT MYERS, Fla. (December 22, 2016) – At long last, the iconic “Hot Now” sign will light in Fort Myers. Winston-Salem-based Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE:KKD), is expanding its footprint into the Southwest Florida market. The multi-national doughnut chain has pre-leased a 3,300-square-foot, free-standing building with drive through in Grand Central, located at 4944 Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myers, Fla. LandQwest Associate, Brett Low, represented the Landlord.
Situated in the heart of the US 41 commercial corridor, Grand Central will include 4.5 acres of commercial property and a 13-acre, upscale multi-family complex that will house 280 units. The construction and development costs will total over $35 million and provide over 450 jobs for the local economy.
Low, who brokered the original September 2016 sale of the property, is in negotiations with several other exciting tenants, which will be released soon.
“I am very excited to be a part of bringing Krispy Kreme to our area,” said Low. “The influential retailer and its loyal fan base have long-awaited this location, and now it’s just a matter of time.”
With the aid and vision of Developer, Joe Bonora, Managing Director at Aileron Capital Management, the lease has been executed and the famed “Hot Now” sign will turn on in the final quarter of 2017.
